LumiBee
LumiBee is a compact resin 3D printer designed for home use. The printer uses light curable liquid resin and the screen of a mobile phone, which is inserted inside the device, as the light source. A control application slices the digital model into horizontal sections that are shown on the screen, and the light solidifies the resin layer by layer. About 95 percent of the parts of LumiBee can be produced with a low cost filament 3D printer. The structure is modular, and each segment has a specific function and can be customized.
LumiBee Resin 3D Printer by Davide Marin has been recognized as an exceptional illustration of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. LumiBee Resin 3D Printer was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 3D Printed Forms and Products Design in 2021. The A' 3D Printed Forms and Products Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that celebrates exceptional design of products designed and realized with latest technologies, 3D printed products, prosthetics, architectural models, jewelry, furniture, automotive parts, fashion accessories, sculptures and more.
