The Flett
The Flett is a roof flashing designed for standing seam architectural cladding. The flashing is produced by 3D printing in ASA plastic, measures 265 by 50 by 100 millimetres and is 2 millimetres thick. The form under-laps one cladding sheet, allows a change in direction, then overlaps the next sheet. The part is matched to the profile and colour of the roofing sheet, and the material is thermally stable, UV stable and nontoxic. The flashing can be installed in sequence by general trades, and aims to reduce leaks at difficult roof junctions.
The Flett Roof Flashing by Scott Flett has been highlighted as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Award & Competition. The Flett Roof Flashing earned the Iron A' Design Award in 3D Printed Forms and Products Design in 2023. The A' 3D Printed Forms and Products Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design competition that celebrates superior design of products designed and realized with latest technologies, 3D printed products, prosthetics, architectural models, jewelry, furniture, automotive parts, fashion accessories, sculptures and more.
